Art for Emotion explores how creative expression and therapeutic art practices can support people living with chronic illness, neurodivergence, and mental health challenges.
HI, I'M HEATHER
For most of my life, I’ve used art as a way to express myself and cope with the emotional dysregulation that can come with trauma and mental illness.
After nearly a decade working as a freelance artist and graphic designer, I developed an incurable chronic illness that forced me to slow down and rethink both my lifestyle and career. That shift led me toward expressive arts and art therapy, where the focus is on process, meaning, and emotional exploration rather than performance or fast-paced creation.
Through treatment, wellness practices, and therapeutic art techniques, I’ve learned to better manage my symptoms and improve my quality of life.
At Art for Emotion, I share reflections, creative practices, and resources to help others use art as a way to navigate difficult experiences and reconnect with themselves.
