Business Updates
It’s been a while since I’ve posted any long-form content - I’ve been MIA on my blog and YouTube as I am navigating some life changes. I was recently diagnosed with chronic illness that has severely affected my ability to work. Because of this, I am currently reprioritizing my business ventures. Instead of freelancing and primarily operating as a service-based business, I am forced to move toward a product-based business model. For the meantime, it will remain hybrid while I offer some exclusive services and focus more on my products.
Exclusive Service Offerings:
Album Cover Design
Poster Design
T-Shirt Design
Tattoo Design
Portrait Commissions
Book/Comic Illustrations
I won’t be offering as many varied commissions. The above list are the only services I currently offer as a freelancer. I also am scaling back on the amount of graphic design services that I offer, due to the high demand and quick turnarounds that these projects often require. Due to my health issues, I simply don’t have the ability to do this anymore. It’s unfortunate, but it opens my work up to new and exciting possibilities - such as opening a shop.
Shop Opening
My shop launched recently, offering my artwork as prints and originals. I’m currently working on adding stickers to the shop as well, so stay tuned for that announcement! I’m excited to be working on my shop again as it’s been a while since I had the time to prioritize products.
Personal Updates
In addition to these changes in operations, I’ve had a lot of recent life changes. I’ve been working on finishing my graphic design degree for some time and had to take a break due to my health issues. I may return soon with new ideas for my career direction. While I always wanted to be a freelancer, and I did well in that space, my health has made it so a career change may be necessary to work alongside my health.
For this reason, I am considering continuing to pursue school with the mindset of returning to a psychology major with a focus in art, with efforts to become an art therapist or a counselor who focuses on art as a therapeutic tool. If you read this post, you know art therapy was my first passion and something I have always wanted to pursue. Now I’ve come full circle after trying out my other passions and have decided I want to pursue art therapy at this time.
Because of this, my content on all platforms may focus more and more on mental and physical health. It is not only a very important topic to me personally but also affects my work and should be displayed more transparently. For example, I started making a comic about my personal story. The final version will be available for download when it is completed.
In order to better accommodate my mental and physical health alongside my work, I also have tenative plans to move out of my hometown in the near future. This was not a decision taken lightly, though I am very excited about the change. I will likely return to my hometown for art markets and regular visits, so I won't be disappearing completely. In the meantime, I am working on building a new life for myself that works with my health and prioritizes self-care and time with my family, rather than focusing all my energy on work. Wish me luck!
